Golden Ratio Frequencies is pleased to introduce Chilean sound artist BAHÍA MANSA with their debut physical release MEMORIAS DE LOS PAJAROS NIÑOS.

Inspired by the natural coastal surroundings of his home in Algarrobo, Chile, producer Iván Aguayo creates emotive, dream-like vignettes of sound, assembled through an array of digital and analogue processes using electronics, traditional instruments, tape loops, found sounds, and field recordings.

MEMORIAS DE LOS PAJAROS NIÑOS takes us on a journey of aural anamnesis evoking nebulous, golden ghosts of summers’ past via eight tracks of mellifluous melancholia. The album’s title literally translates as “Memories of Baby-Birds” -- ‘Pajaros Ninos’ being the name given to the Humboldt penguin, an endangered breed of penguin native to Aguayo’s coastal home.

Full of analogue warmth, these ASMR inducing loops play out as lullabies of fading memory that bend, crackle and soothe in an hypnotic yet highly emotional dance of ear-tickling wonder. The listener finds themself awash in a fuzzy, floating state of nostalgic haze that caresses and calms while simultaneously stirring a deep sense of wistful longing.

When BAHÍA MANSA came across GRFRQ’s radar last year, we knew immediately that we wanted to work with such a sonic conjurer. Previously released digitally by the artist, this physical edition of the album is expanded with a fresh new mix, re-master, new artwork and previously unavailable tracks, bringing Aguayo's full vision into the material realm.

Physical copies will be available on limited pro-dubbed C60 cassette, with on-body print, full colour double-sided inlay and screen printed Golden Ratio Spiral acetate
